Body Found Near Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville

No word on whether body is that of missing Clifton man, whose car was found Tuesday night near Bull Run Regional Park.

Fairfax County Police found the body of a man Wednesday near Bull Run Regional Park, in a quarry near a truck that was abandoned by Clifton man Brian Woodworth, who went missing, according to a report by CBSLocal. No word on whether the body is Woodworth. "We can't confirm whether it's that man," said Officer Shelley Broderick, a spokeswoman for the Fairfax County Police Department. Police are not treating the incident as a homicide, she said. "Nothing leads us to suspect foul play," she noted. Woodworth, a 27-year-old Centreville High School graduate, went missing on Feb. 2, according to his friends. He left his home while driving a 2003 white Toyota Highlander. Bull Run Festival of Lights is Underway

The holiday light show is open each night from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 5:30-10 p.m. Friday-Sunday and holidays.

If you're looking for things to do with friends and family during the holidays, you can kick the holiday spirit in gear with a visit to Bull Run Regional Park, 7700 Bull Run Drive in Centreville, where the annual lights festival continues through Jan. 6. The Bull Run Festival of Lights features Santa's Enchanted Lights, more than 40,000 animated lights set to music that you can view from your car. Each year the event attracts about 30,000 cars. The busiest evenings are Friday through Sunday. The holiday light show is open each night from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 5:30-10 p.m. Friday-Sunday and holidays. Weekend Preview: Vintage Virginia Wine Festival

Event features wine and entertainment at Bull Run Regional Park Special Events Center.

The 31st annual Vintage Virginia Wine Festival will take place at the Special Events Center at Bull Run Regional Park this weekend. Several dozen winemakers will be on hand to present samples of their wines. There will be plenty of entertainment to go along with the wine, including music, jugglers, a family tent with balloons for the little ones—even a ventriloquist and a stiltwalker. The festival is popular and typically attracts thousands of people from around the area. It runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $32 for general admission, or $30 if purchased in advance online (purchase tickets at www.vintagevirginia.com). The festival isn't the only wine-related event occurring in that area …

Hundreds Race Along Bull Run-Occoquan Trail

Virginia Happy Trails Running Club holds its 20th annual 50 mile race.

Hundreds of people from all over the United States raced on the Bull Run-Occoquan Trail Saturday, as the Virginia Happy Trails Running Club held its 20th annual 50-mile race. The annual Bull Run Run kicked off in the early morning hours at Hemlock Overlook Regional Park in Clifton and follows the dirt trails that parallel the Bull Run and Occoquan River. It has a unique Civil War theme, with runners from "the North" rivaling those on "the South." Runners had a maximum of 13 hours to complete the race. See photos from the 2011 50-mile race.
