Business is good — they would just like to see more businesses join them in Clifton.
Everything you could ever want in a convenience store is conveniently located in the Clifton General Store (which also includes The Main Street Pub and A Flower Blooms flower shop). And business is booming, according to manager Sean McNamara. "Last year was our biggest year since opening in 2008," said McNamara. "We have consistently seen 20 percent growth every year, but last year it was 30 percent." McNamara hopes to see more businesses along Clifton's Main Street. "There's a half-hour wait on Friday and Saturday night, generally, and more businesses would mean that we'd all feed off each other. It would be awesome." I first came to the Clifton Store and Pub, visiting from Austin, Tx, in the spring of 2009 for lunch with my boyfriend's mom. His parents had lived in the area for nearly 35 years before their passing and knew The McNamara family well.
