Alleged Strangulation, Malicious Bodily Injury and Assault in Fairfax Station and Lorton

A 23-year-old Lorton man living in the 9900 block of East Dr. was arrested for misdemeanor assault and strangulation resulting in bodily injury, on April 26.  The following list of arrests in the Lorton and Fairfax Station-areas has been provided by the Fairfax County Police Department. Crime Report: Resident Reports Attempted Burglary in Clifton

The incident took place on the 13300 block of Balmoral Greens Avenue.

The following incidents were reported in the Sully District Station, which includes portions of Clifton and Centreville. Burglary On Sunday, a resident reported that someone tried to steal their ATV and lawn mower, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. The incident was reported at 6 p.m. on the 13300 block of Balmoral Greens Avenue in Clifton. The resident told police that someone had tried to get to the items by opening a garage door. No items were taken. Other items in the Sully District Station:

A 'Copycat' Serial Groper, Carnal Knowledge of a Minor and Arrests in Lorton and Fairfax Station

It was a busy week for Fairfax County Police.

Fairfax County Police last week determined that a series of recent assaults in Lorton may be the work of a 'copycat groper'.  In the most recent incident in Lorton, a 31-year-old woman was approached from behind at around 10:45 a.m. April 10, while walking near Timarand Court and Timarand Drive. The suspect touched the victim inappropriately, then fled and was not located by officers. The victim was not injured. Missing 5-Year-Old Cameron Serafin Found Safe; Mother Rebecca Arrested

The boy was found in a hotel in Las Vegas with his mother, who has been arrested and is being held as a fugitive from justice.

Fairfax County Police announced Wednesday that Cameron Serafin, the Fairfax County boy who has been missing since April 7, has been found safe and his mother Rebecca has been arrested. Investigators had been looking for Rebecca Serafin and her 5-year-old son since she did not return the boy to his father's home in Great Falls as scheduled.   “Following information they developed after viewing the video, LVPD [Las Vegas Police Department] detectives located Cameron and Rebecca Serafin at another hotel close by,” according to the Fairfax County Police Department release. “Cameron is safe and in good condition. His mother is being held as a fugitive from justice and will await extradition back to Virginia. Cameron’s father is already making …

Police: Missing Boy, Mom Seen in Las Vegas

FCPS says Rebecca Serafin may be heading to Los Angeles.

Fairfax County Police say that Cameron Serafin, the Fairfax County boy who has been missing since April 7, has been seen with his mother in Las Vegas. Investigators have been looking for the mother and her 5-year-old son since Rebecca Serafin did not return the boy to his father's home in Great Falls as scheduled.   Detectives say Rebecca and Cameron Serafin were seen in the baggage claim area at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday, April 11, around 10 p.m., after arriving on a Southwest Airlines flight from Birmingham, Ala. They are possibly headed for Los Angeles, Calif. Police have issued a warrant charging Rebecca Serafin with felony parental abduction. Cameron was seen on airport surveillance video wearing …

Fairfax Police Searching for Missing 5-Year-Old Boy

Cameron Serafin, 5, was supposed to be returned to his father on Sunday; authorities have issued a warrant for his mother.

Five-year-old Cameron Serafin was supposed to return Sunday to his father in Great Falls. But he never came home, say Fairfax County police, who asked for the public's help Thursday in finding the missing child. According to police, Cameron is believed to be with his mother, Rebecca Serafin, 32. Serafin was supposed to return the child to his father on Sunday. A warrant has been issued for Serafin’s arrest on charges of custodial interference, a misdemeanor, police said. Detectives say they have reason to be concerned about the boy's welfare. There was no address available for Cameron's mother. Fairfax Police Officer Shelley Broderick said Cameron and his mother could be anywhere. Raise Awareness of Crime Victims at First FCPD 5k Walk in April at Fairfax Corner

Event honors 2013 National Crime Victims' Rights Week.

The Fairfax County Police Department's Victims Services Unit will host its first-ever 5k walk in April to raise awareness about crime victims in the county, and to honor 2013 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, FCPD recently announced. The free event is hosted by the Victims Services Section of the Fairfax County Police Department and the Fairfax County Law Enforcement Foundation. It kicks off Sunday, April 21 at 4:30 p.m. at Fairfax Corner. Police invite the public to join the "caring professionals that support local victims of homicide, trauma, sexual and domestic violence, child physical and sexual abuse, stalking human trafficking and suicide as they walk together." The event will feature a resource fair, live jazz, rhythm and blues …
