One usually sees local artist Palmer Smith painting scenes of Clifton during the warmer months, but Patch found him out and about on Main Street on the afternoon of Monday, March 4, 2013. "Clifton is a beautiful older town, a clasical town that isnt in the middle of nowhere," said Smith, who lives in Warrenton. "Just look at that scene - the railroad tracks and Main Street. You can't beat that." In the photo, Smith is talking with Clifton resident Doug Holmes. Incidentally, Patch will be interviewing Smith next week, so stay tuned for a gallery of his best work.
