Ms. Williams,
I have seen and read the several articles by the Patch that relate to the 'sexting' of several teens in the W. Springfield area and the Burke area. I am consistently disturbed and dismayed - as are many others here in the West Springfield area - by the Patch's reporting which deliberately associates the High School with these illegal activities.
Every article leads with a mention of West Springfield High School and a photo of the High School. Why?
The school is NOT associated with these activities. They did not take place on school grounds and only a hand-full of WSHS kids were involved. Furthermore, as your own article states - "others" were involved from "other" schools.
Nowhere does the article state which schools these 'others' attend. Nor is there a picture of any other school attached to the article.
This can only be a deliberate attempt by the Burke Patch to slander West Springfield High School, while deliberately omitting any mention of the 'other' schools attended by the 'other' kids who are involved.
This biased and deliberately misleading reporting is inexplicable. It's huge disservice to all the fine teachers, administrators and kids that attend the school.
This story needs to stop being reported as a West Springfield HS story - it has nothing to do with the school. I really think your paper owes WSHS an apology.

I just posted a bullying prevention program for families to be held Nov. 3 - 1 to 3 pm at Olivet Episcopal Church in Franconia area. In checking out the current listing, I could not get the list to advance beyond the events on the first page (Oct. 19) so I could see our Nov. event. I would hope that folks could check out events that are a few weeks away.

Sherell,
I noticed that you advertised Tag Day for Annandale High School, which is great. Falls Church High School will also have Tag Day tomorrow! Many Annandale residents attend Falls Church High School ( such as the Camelot neighborhood), so it would be wonderful if you could include information for both schools. Thanks so much!

Open Deer hunt in Annandale parks.
Peo[ple need to know about the deer hunt in the local parks. The county is having bow hunters come in and this the herd. Not against it but I walk in the parks with family and friends and the signage stinks. Fairfax needs to warn the park users before there is an accident.

Hi Sherell... Just moved to Annandale from Queens, NY in January. I bought a practice and saw that it was listed on AnnandalePatch and need to edit the info. I was hoping you could direct me to the right place and i also just wanted to just say hello to a fellow New Yorker.

Sherell -- I just want to say I've enjoyed reading the Patch, especially the coverage of Springfield Mall and what's going to become of it. It's a huge issue with a lot of different angles -- construction, economic and diversity -- and judging by the comments under the stories it's becoming emotional, too. Thanks again for a great read.

Sherell, I met you on election day at the Chapel precinct and told you I could not figure out how to change my name. Now I can't figure out how to get my event that takes place tonight on your calendar. I think there is someone from Vienna covering, but maybe you'd like to as well.
Candidate Forum at Army Navy Country Club, Fairfax; 3315 Old Lee Highway, Fx 7-9 pm Wednesday 31 August; sponsored by George Mason, New Providence, Mamie Eisenhower Republican Womens Clubs.
Thanks, Linda Bartlett

Hi Sherell and Board members.I e-mailed you about this. I'm a Brooklyn girl also and currently live in Florida. I'm thinking of moving to the Virginia area and would like some info about great areas for school and to raise an 11yr old child. Me and my husband will also need employment. I'm a nurse and he has worked in Government jobs. We most likely will rent for awhile. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Ginette and Fritz
